WRRL REQUIREMENTS FOR ARCTS
NOTE: ARCTs deployed by the WRRL must meet all applicable current FEMA and NIMS requirements.
Individual ARCT member minimum requirements:
1. WRRL member. (Requires being a licensed amateur radio operator.)
2. Basic ICS/NIMS course.
3. American Red Cross "Intro to Disasters."
4. Level 1 ARECC Course(s), or equivalent demonstrated knowledge and experience.
5. Review EMCOMM MONTHLY training modules (6/04 to present) and remain current.
6. Traffic Handling classroom training, self-study and experience, or WRRL DVD RADIOGRAM training.)
7. Score 90% or higher on the WRRL Traffic Handlers Challenge/Quiz.
8. Good health / physical condition appropriate to the deployment/task. (At discretion of team leader.)
ARCT Group minimum personnel requirements:
9. Every ARCT TYPE I base (hub) must have at least two operators (one of which is Morse qualified) available at all times proficient basic* formal message handling. (* Basic = can format, relay, and receive universal RADIOGRAMS. Does not need to know ARL system or "book message" procedures.)
10. Every ARCT TYPE I mobile/portable/field (ARCT 3 or 4 component) must have at least one operatoravailable at all times who can handle formal message traffic.
11. Every deployed ARCT base (hub) or field unit must have at least one person trained in first aid/CPR
or EMT-1 or higher medic.
